About Dr. Elisabeth Zigelstein

Elisabeth Zigelstein, PsyD

Postdoctoral  Fellow

My approach is grounded in careful listening and creating space for what may be difficult to recognize or put into words. I remain curious about what is expressed both intentionally and unintentionally, believing that meaningful progress often begins with a deeper understanding of what has gone unspoken.

I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University. Over the past seven years, my clinical experience has spanned private practice, outpatient and intensive outpatient programs, residential treatment, and university counseling centers. I provide psychotherapy for adolescents, adults, and couples. My areas of focus include trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, identity and sense of self, personality-related difficulties, and working with high-risk individuals.

While my work is rooted in a psychodynamic approach, I also draw on my extensive experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), integrating practical, evidence-based skills when appropriate to complement deeper exploration and meet each individual's needs.

I strive to help individuals better understand themselves, their struggles, and the patterns that shape their lives. Together, we create space for new ways of understanding oneself, connecting with others, and navigating life's challenges.
